Did you know???

Each month non-profit organizations dedicate each month to an awareness of individual cancers. September is the awareness for Ovarian Cancer. These are my life-long buddies! We all met in high school and thanks to technology, Kelly, Shannon, Christy, Christine and I have kept in touch. None of us live in the same city or even the same state, but these tender souls surprised me with their enormous support. If you're not on social media, these beautiful friends posted this picture of themselves wearing these bands that read, "In The Fight For Someone I Love."

During the last few months, I've been aware of 3 other people diagnosed with varies cancers and one special uncle who has passed away due to this devastating disease. As you are reading this, you too may know of a couple more people who have been recently diagnosed. Here is a snap shot of each individual cancer awareness month.

Did you know that Ovarian Cancer is:
  • One of the most deadly of women's cancers
  • Typically occurs in women in their 50's and 60's with a medium age of 63
  • Women don't seek help until the disease has spread
  • Pap tests do NOT detect this disease
  • Symptoms are subtle and can be confused with other ailments
Symptoms may include:
  • Bloating
  • Pelvic or Abdominal pain
  • Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly
  • Urinary urgency or frequency
