Cancer awareness ribbons come in all different colors depending on the type of cancer. Lavender represents all forms of cancer. Maddy's wonderful room mom surprised all the students this morning by placing a lavender ribbon pin on all the student's backpacks. Her class has unfortunately been struck with not 1 or 2, but 3 parents diagnosed with 3 different cancers. Within these 3 parents is actually her teacher's husband. Adults endure all kinds of stress whether it be health, work, finances, or personal issues. I keep seeing the quote, "I can't adult today" all over. What we really need to do is embrace our children. If we adults feel this much pressure...don't our children feel it too? We thank you so much, Mrs. Gizzi, for supporting our children who come home to a sick parent. We thank you for bringing awareness to the children who don't realize what is happening. 😘
